Install and Activate the Cart Drawer
Before you start
- You need access to your Shopify admin.
- Make sure you know which theme is Current (live) vs unpublished (draft).
Step 1: Install the app
From the app listing, click Install. If Shopify asks, choose the store you want to install the app on.
Review the permissions and click Install or Approve to finish.
In your Shopify admin, go to Apps and click Oxify Cart Drawer to open it.
Step 2: Enable the app in your theme
Oxify Cart Drawer needs to be turned on in your theme so it can show the slide-out cart drawer.
In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes. On your live theme, click Customize.
In the theme editor, click App embeds (usually in the left sidebar).
Find Oxify Cart Drawer (or similar name) and switch it On.
Click Save in the top-right corner.
In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize.
Use the page dropdown at the top to go to a page where you want the app enabled (commonly Cart, Product, or a global area like Theme settings if your theme supports it).
In the left sidebar, click Add block (or Add section), then choose the Oxify Cart Drawer app block.
Click Save in the top-right corner.
Step 3: Confirm the cart drawer is working
Now you’ll test the storefront and make sure the drawer opens when a customer adds an item.
Visit your store in a new browser tab.
Open any product page and click Add to cart.
You should see a cart drawer slide in (usually from the side). It should show your cart items and a checkout area.
- Increase or decrease quantity (if your theme shows quantity controls in the drawer).
- Click the close (X) button and re-open the cart to confirm it responds.
- Go to checkout from the drawer and confirm checkout loads.
If you don’t see the cart drawer
- Go back to Online Store → Themes → Customize and confirm the Oxify Cart Drawer app embed is On, or the app block is added.
- Click Save again.
- Refresh the storefront page and try Add to cart again.
- Make sure you enabled the app on the theme that is marked Current (live theme).
- If you changed a draft theme, publish it or repeat the steps on the live theme.
This usually means the theme embed/app block is not enabled, or the theme is still using its default cart behavior. Re-check Step 2 and save your theme.
