Disable the Cart Drawer (Without Uninstalling)
What this does
Turning off the app embed (or app block) stops Oxify Cart Drawer from showing on your store. Your store will go back to your theme’s default cart behavior.
Your Oxify settings stay saved in the app, so you can turn it back on later without setting everything up again.
Before you start
- This change affects only the theme you edit (for example: Live vs Preview theme).
- If you have more than one theme, you may need to turn it off in each theme separately.
Turn off the app embed (most common)
In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
Find the theme you want to change, then click Customize.
In the theme editor, open the left sidebar and click App embeds.
Find the Oxify Cart Drawer app embed and switch it Off.
Click Save in the top-right of the theme editor.
Turn off the app block (if your theme uses blocks)
In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes and click Customize.
Use the left sidebar to look for an Apps section or any section that contains an Oxify block (for example, a cart-related section).
Click the Oxify app block and either:
- Toggle it Off (if your theme shows a visibility switch), or
- Click Remove block.
Click Save in the top-right of the theme editor.
Confirm your theme’s default cart is back
- Add an item to your cart from your storefront.
- You should now see your theme’s normal cart behavior (for example: cart page, mini-cart, or your theme’s built-in drawer).
Your settings are still saved
Turning off the embed/block only stops the drawer from showing. It does not reset your setup.
When you’re ready to use Oxify again, turn the app embed/app block back on and save the theme.
No. Disabling the app embed/app block does not delete your Oxify settings. Your setup stays in the app and will be there when you re-enable it.
Yes. You can disable Oxify on one theme and keep it enabled on another. Just make sure you’re editing the correct theme in Shopify.
That’s normal. You are going back to your theme’s built-in cart experience, which may be a cart page, a mini-cart, or the theme’s own drawer.
